23 Former Afghan Government Officials Return to Afghanistan

The Commission for Contact with Afghan Personalities has confirmed the return of 23 officials from the previous Afghan government to the country last month.

Ahmadullah Wathiq, the spokesperson for the commission, stated that efforts to facilitate the return of additional former government members are ongoing.

In a previous announcement, the spokesperson for the Taliban Contact Commission revealed that invitations had been extended to all Afghan figures residing abroad, with the exception of former President Ashraf Ghani, encouraging them to return to their homeland.
