Nada Al-Nashif, the United Nations Deputy High Commissioner for Human Rights, described Afghanistan as the only country where girls above the sixth grade are not allowed to be educated.
“Afghanistan is the only country in the world where girls are deprived of primary education. Education, learning in classrooms and schools in communities is important for girls and the whole community,” Al-Nashif added.
Meanwhile, Al-Nashif calls the ban on women’s work in international organizations regrettable and says its continuation will hamper assisting needy Afghans.
