The Deputy Head of the Taliban’s Intelligence Agency has issued a stern warning that if a war is imposed, the Taliban will resolutely defend the Sharia system and Islamic territory in a manner that will invalidate current calculations, leading warmongers to face dire consequences. These remarks come amid escalating regional tensions with countries such as Pakistan and the United States in recent months…

Tajmir Jawad: Warmongers Will Face Dire Consequences

Tajmir Jawad, the Deputy of the Taliban’s Intelligence Agency and a key figure in security decision-making, clarified the group’s official stance regarding internal and external threats in significant remarks.

Warning to Internal and External Forces

He emphasized that certain internal and external groups are attempting to create problems for Afghanistan under various pretexts, but the Taliban’s position is clear: we do not seek war; however, if war is imposed upon us, we will defend the current system resolutely. In a cautionary tone, he added that if war is forced upon them, they will defend the Sharia system and Islamic land in such a way that all current calculations will be proven wrong, and warmongers will face serious repercussions. He also noted that the Taliban government is committed to regional security and stability based on Sharia and Afghanistan’s interests.

Balance Between Religion and Development

In another part of his speech, the Deputy Head of the Taliban Intelligence Agency shared his perspective on domestic development: He believes that the expansion and development of religious sciences will strengthen Islamic faith, while at the same time, the advancement of modern sciences can ensure the welfare and development of the country.

Previous Stances on Threats

These comments come in light of prior similar threats made by Taliban officials in response to regional and global stances. Tensions escalated following Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif describing talks with Kabul as the last opportunity to resolve border crises and not ruling out military options. Additionally, Zabihullah Mujahid, a spokesman for the Taliban, previously reacted to Donald Trump’s threats regarding potential negative consequences if Kabul does not comply on the Bagram airbase negotiations, warning the U.S. not to forget that bad events can lead to bad reactions.
