The Permanent Mission of Afghanistan to the United Nations condemned the recent attacks by Pakistan for violating territorial integrity and the United Nations Charter, calling for action from the Security Council to prevent the recurrence of such violations…<\/strong><\/p>\n

Diplomatic Call to Stop Border Violations<\/h2>\n

Following the recent airstrikes attributed to the Pakistani army on the border areas of Afghanistan, the Permanent Mission of Afghanistan to the United Nations, which is still represented by delegates of the former ousted government, issued a statement calling for an immediate halt to these incursions.<\/p>\n

Naseer Ahmad Faiq, the head of this mission, stated in a post published on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) that the attacks on Afghanistan’s territory constitute a blatant violation of the country’s territorial integrity, a breach of the UN Charter and international law.<\/p>\n

The statement emphasized that the UN Security Council must take prompt action to prevent the recurrence of these violations and incursions, and Pakistan was also urged to immediately cease its attacks.<\/p>\n

Targeting Civilians is Never a Fight Against Terrorism<\/h2>\n

The Permanent Mission of Afghanistan, referring to the casualties among civilians in these attacks, emphasized the moral and legal aspects of the situation and stated: targeting civilians is never a fight against terrorism.<\/p>\n

This diplomatic stance comes at a time when the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has also confirmed civilian casualties. According to UNAMA’s report, in the recent airstrikes conducted in Khost and Kunar provinces, at least ten civilians were killed, a significant portion of whom were children.<\/p>\n

These condemnations are in complete contrast to the official position of Pakistan. The Taliban government claimed that Pakistani fighter jets bombed Khost, Kunar, and Paktika provinces late on Monday (November 24); however, the Pakistani army denied any attacks on Afghan territory and dismissed the Taliban government’s claims as baseless.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
