Ariana News Agency: Mohammad Karim Khalili, former chairman of the Afghan Supreme Peace Council, said the Hazaras were highly vulnerable to killing and genocide by criminal gangs.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mohammad Karim Khalili, the former head of Afghanistan’s Supreme Peace Council, criticized the killing of Hazaras, saying that Hazaras were highly vulnerable to killing and genocide by criminal gangs.<\/p>\n

Mr Khalili told a news conference in Kabul that the current war in the country was causing deaths across all ethnic groups, but that Hazaras were being targeted for genocide because of their ethnic identity.<\/p>\n

The former head of the Supreme Peace Council added: “Events that are a clear example of the genocide of the Hazaras have been observed many times over the past twenty years.”<\/p>\n

Khalili also noted that no ethnic group or groups are accused of genocide against the Hazaras, and that criminal gangs are behind the plot.<\/p>\n

Mohammad Karim Khalili called on the government, in particular the President of Afghanistan, Ashraf Ghani, to recognize the genocide of the Hazaras and to take part in campaign banning the genocide of this ethnic group.<\/p>\n

“Ensuring the security of citizens is one of the main responsibilities of the government, and security agencies must take effective action to prevent the recurrence of targeted attacks on the Hazara people, and identify which criminal groups and gangs are behind the attacks,” he said.
\nThe former head of the High Peace Council warned that the people would defend their legitimate rights if the government failed to provide security for the Hazaras.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, in the aftermath of the targeted killing of Hazaras and after several deadly attacks in western Kabul that targeted Hazaras, a campaign called “Stop the Hazara genocide” has been launched on Twitter. The European Union and Germany have also called for an end to the deliberate killing of the Hazaras in Afghanistan.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
