A World Bank report indicates that women’s participation in the workforce in Afghanistan has dropped to 5.1% for women over 15 years old. Furthermore, UN Women has reported that 78% of Afghan women and young girls have been denied work and vocational training following recent developments.<\/p>\n

A representative from a bookstore in Jalalabad stated that due to current restrictions on women, the number of female customers has drastically declined.
