France is currently conducting technical discussions with the Taliban<\/a> government to expedite the process of repatriating undocumented Afghan refugees, particularly those accused of public disorder violations. A diplomatic source shed light on this matter during a conversation with the Agence France-Presse on Thursday, October 8.<\/p>\n

The primary aim of these negotiations is to create conditions for the return of Afghans who have been living illegally in France or have been convicted of crimes in French courts. Following the Taliban’s return to power in August 2021, Paris severed its diplomatic ties with Kabul, and the French embassy in Afghanistan remains closed.<\/p>\n
