The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces have thwarted a plot by the militants to carry out a deadly explosion in Kabul city.<\/p>\n

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officials are saying that the militants were looking to detonate explosives on a roadside in the vicinity of the 17th police district of the city in Ghaibi Baba Township.<\/p>\n

The officials further added that the security forces have confiscated ten kgs of explosives along with an artillery shell and other types of explosives from the area.<\/p>\n

The CID officials said Friday that the Afghan forces have thwarted a plot by the anti-government armed militants to carry out a rocket attack on Kabul.<\/p>\n

The officials further added that the militants were looking to target the city with a BM-1 rocket from Chahar Asiab district.<\/p>\n

According to the officials, the rocket along with a mobile phone device was discovered from the vicinity of Char Asiab district before the militants manage to carry out an attack.<\/p>\n

This comes as the anti-government armed groups are attempting to carry out attacks in the key provinces and cities of the country during the recent months.<\/p>\n
