Ayesha, the mother of a polio-affected child, has voiced her deep concerns regarding the condition of her 14-year-old daughter and has called for more assistance for her treatment. Mustafa, the father of a girl named Limeh, mentioned that her health had been stable at birth but progressively worsened, prompting him to seek help from the Ministry of Public Health.<\/p>\n

Awareness and Vaccination: Key Strategies Against Polio<\/h2>\n

Dr. Ghulam Haidar Rafifi, a pediatrician and one of the founders of the polio vaccination program in Afghanistan, emphasized that the lack of public awareness is a significant factor contributing to the rise in polio cases. He urged for the acceleration and expansion of vaccination and awareness initiatives to combat the disease.<\/p>\n

He stated, “We must vaccinate children at all stages and work towards preventing further infections.” According to Dr. Rafifi, in addition to vaccination, access to clean water and proper sanitation are crucial elements in the fight against polio.<\/p>\n
