They point to rising unemployment and skyrocketing food prices, contending that this new tax will exacerbate their economic struggles.<\/p>\n

A resident of Nangarhar, who wished to remain anonymous, expressed: “There is no accountability, no transparency. While people are struggling just to have a bite to eat, taking ten Afghanis from every hundred Afghanis is a heavy load for them.” He added that many are unaware of where this money is being directed.<\/p>\n

Concerns Over Transparency of Mobile Credit Tax<\/h2>\n

Another individual from Kabul echoed this sentiment, stating: “Collecting taxes on mobile credit increases the financial pressure on the people without any transparency regarding the funds collected.” He stressed that if the tax does not contribute to improving citizens’ conditions, it should be abolished.<\/p>\n

In response to these concerns, a spokesperson for the Taliban’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology did not provide answers to inquiries.
