In the Chaki district of Kunar province, two family members have died due to a lack of access to healthcare services. Patients in this area face serious challenges and require urgent attention.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Deaths Due to Lack of Access to Healthcare Services<\/h2>\n

In the Chaki district of Kunar province, a 10-year-old child and a 70-year-old man from the same family passed away due to the unavailability of medical services. This tragic incident occurred in the Deva Gul valley after both individuals showed symptoms including fever, headache, diarrhea, and vomiting.<\/p>\n

Azizullah, a local resident, reported that his nephew died while being transported to a clinic, as the difficult terrain and lack of transportation made timely access impossible. He further shared that just a week earlier, his uncle succumbed to a similar sickness.<\/p>\n

Common Illnesses and Residents’ Concerns<\/h2>\n

Azizullah mentioned that after the death of these two family members, two of his other nephews also fell ill with similar symptoms and were taken to a private clinic. Doctors at the clinic diagnosed them with cholera. Additionally, another local resident, Qari Azizurrahman, has been diagnosed with malaria.<\/p>\n

The community is increasingly worried about other diseases as well. One resident called for the government and charitable organizations to address and assess the health situation, stating, “The number of patients is rising, and people are very concerned.”<\/p>\n

Response from the Ministry of Public Health<\/h2>\n

Sharafaat Zaman, spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Health, did not respond to these remarks. However, Dr. Hafizullah Ghroval, the chief physician at the Chaki district hospital, confirmed that there have been no recorded cases of cholera in the district. He emphasized that some patients who visited the clinic were suffering from conditions such as poisoning.<\/p>\n

This comes at a time when the Taliban’s Ministry of Public Health recently announced a five-year national strategy to strengthen Afghanistan’s healthcare system. In this context, Minister Nourjilal Jalali highlighted the current needs of the populace and stressed the importance of enhancing healthcare services.<\/p>\n
