The ISIS-Khorasan terrorist group has officially taken responsibility for the attack that led to the death of Zabihullah Amiri, the head of the Taliban’s Information and Culture Department in Badakhshan Province. In a published statement, the group asserted that its members targeted this high-ranking local official near the city of Faizabad using automatic weapons.<\/p>\n

Details of the Incident and Casualties<\/h2>\n

According to local reports, Zabihullah Amiri was ambushed by two armed individuals riding a motorcycle on his way to the center of Badakhshan Province (Faizabad) on Tuesday. As a result of this shooting, both Amiri and one of his bodyguards were killed instantly.<\/p>\n

Following the assassination, Taliban security forces immediately began pursuing the fleeing assailants.
